Laser scanning of the 30-m radio telescope surface
Recon Ltd conducts laser scanning of 30-m dish
Radio telescope dishes can deviate from their ideal shape so are checked periodically for surface quality and misalignments as these can affect performance. Laser scanning is a modern method with benefits of ‘quick and easy’ over traditional techniques. We’ve contracted Recon Ltd to carry out laser scanning of the 30-m radio telescope at Warkworth and results are impressive.
